We are excited to announce Ms. Ann Beaucejour as one of the finalists for Geotechture’s inaugural Future Leaders in S.T.E.A.M. Grant. This grant aims to identify and support emerging talents who demonstrate exceptional promise and dedication in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (S.T.E.A.M.). Ann's commitment to leveraging technology to strengthen communities and her innovative spirit make her a standout finalist.
A Journey Rooted in Community
Ann Beaucejour’s journey in S.T.E.A.M. is deeply intertwined with her Haitian heritage and the strong sense of community that shaped her upbringing. Growing up in a tight-knit environment filled with family and friends, Ann developed an early understanding of the importance of community support. This foundational experience has driven her to explore how technology can be used to enhance the quality of life for others, particularly in underserved communities.
Currently a rising third-year Management Information Systems (MIS) major at the University of Georgia, Ann was initially drawn to the field due to her natural affinity for math and problem-solving. However, it was her desire to make a meaningful impact on people's lives that solidified her path in S.T.E.A.M. Through pivotal experiences, such as attending a seminar in Silicon Valley and interning as a tech consultant at EY, Ann’s understanding of the transformative power of technology has grown, fueling her aspirations to become a consultant or project manager who works on impactful projects that benefit society.
Building Bridges to Opportunity
Ann’s commitment to using her S.T.E.A.M. skills to benefit her community is unwavering. She is particularly focused on addressing critical gaps in access to technology and education. By creating and supporting programs that provide essential skills and resources to underserved populations, Ann aims to help individuals unlock new opportunities and potential.
Her approach to societal impact is driven by empathy and a deep sense of responsibility. Ann believes in fostering a collaborative work environment where support, compassion, and a sense of value motivate each individual. She aspires to launch a startup that not only addresses specific community needs but also embodies a culture of kindness and care, blending innovative solutions with a heartfelt commitment to improving lives.
Innovating for Community Success
Ann’s innovative spirit is exemplified by her proposal for BIZ-PICKS, a groundbreaking platform that merges crowdfunding with predictive investments to support small businesses. Understanding the struggles that many small businesses face, such as limited visibility and financial support, Ann developed BIZ-PICKS to address these challenges head-on.
The platform allows users to predict the success trajectory of local businesses, rewarding accurate predictions with real monetary returns. By combining traditional crowdfunding with AI-driven predictive investment models, BIZ-PICKS enhances transparency and engagement through real-time dashboards and demographic tracking. The platform also features a jackpot system to incentivize consistent participation, creating a win-win scenario for both businesses and contributors.
The potential impact of BIZ-PICKS extends beyond individual businesses, aiming to reshape the crowdfunding landscape by fostering stronger community ties and driving economic growth. Ann’s innovative approach not only provides small businesses with much-needed capital but also builds a more supportive and engaged local and global community.
